You know your child is a fussy eater when...

You start wondering whether ketchup or popcorn can be counted as a portion of vegetables.

Your green wheelie bin is full to the brim with your child's leftovers.

Your toddler will only eat a banana whilst still in the supermarket (We do pay for it first). She will not touch bananas at any other time, however fresh they are.

Your other child's 'fruit eating' sticker chart has been gathering dust on the kitchen wall for 5 months, during which time she has not eaten a single piece of fruit.

Sorry, trying to think of something funny to say now.

haychee · 08/11/2007 20:21

DD1 doesnt eat loads now, infact not alot. But what it is is healthier. So im happy.
The way things were it was crap constantly, no its healthy with treat rewards like after dinner.
She has followed the same weight gain pattern since a baby (which was always small), so no real weight gain.

DD2 eats for the nation. Is a little fussy, but i think we all are, i dont like certain things either. Her way is just normal.

StrawberryMartini · 08/11/2007 20:22

You always carry an emergency packet of Organix which you always end up using.

Othersideofthechannel · 08/11/2007 20:22

First time I've wished my kids were really fussy eaters. Then I'd have something to contribute to bring the thread back on track.

haychee · 08/11/2007 20:23

Ill go now, ive said my piece.
I can see im not wanted

lairyfairy · 08/11/2007 20:24

don't be daft, was good advice.

ArmadilloDaMan · 08/11/2007 20:24

YOu dread makers changing the recipe/packaging/shape of something cos you know then that's off the list.

At 3 your child is an ace at cooking and recognising foods because you were told it would help.

lairyfairy · 08/11/2007 20:26

can make anyhting look like a clowns face. and I mean anything.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 08/11/2007 20:26

Do chocolate covered raisins pass as a fruit portion?

Othersideofthechannel · 08/11/2007 20:26

You have 12 different types of cheese in the fridge so DS will vary his protein sources

(dragged up a memory from two years ago)

pagwatch · 08/11/2007 20:29

ummm
(sorry this isn't funny either)
my son has special needs. One of his first symptoms was food restriction - cut down to bread, pasta, cakes and ice cream. I stopped giving them to him and he ate nothing for three days. He passed out at nursery.

haychee. i like your theory but SOME KIDS WILL NOT EAT. Everyone tels you a child will not starve themselves.

well dear reader , that is actually bollocks.

He still will not eat any veg and only eats about six foods. I hate it, We all hate it. but there it is.

LoveMyGirls · 08/11/2007 20:30

Your fridge is full of yogurt - why is it fussy eaters will usually have yogurt if nothing else? (if it has fruity bits can it be counted as fruit?)

pagwatch · 08/11/2007 20:31

Back to the proper thread...

you are in a resterant in france trying to explain to the waiter why you are cleaning a cooked chicken breat with a napkin

pagwatch · 08/11/2007 20:31

You can pack school lunch with your eye closed

StrawberryMartini · 08/11/2007 20:32

Lol my ds ate half a yogurt yesterday for the first time ever and I was so excited!!!

lairyfairy · 08/11/2007 20:32

Probably not, but a fruit puree can. Bless Organix

Meeely2 · 08/11/2007 20:32

i cannot believe this thread was so misunderstood - do no one read 'you know you've got a toddler in the house when...'

It was supposed to be tongue in cheek!

You know you have a fussy eater when you have a fridge full of petite filous and think you are doing well when you progress to the ones with real fruit at the bottom!

You know you have a fussy eater when you go into a cold sweat when you realise you have run out of 'scetti 'oops'

pagwatch · 08/11/2007 20:32

You know the first names of all the staff in Holland and barrett

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 08/11/2007 20:33

Your DD will eat anything in a 'pouch' so you scour the shelves of every supermarket and manage to find yoghurt, smoothies and various mushed up veg in pouches.

StrawberryMartini · 08/11/2007 20:33

It was only misunderstood by one person and she's gone now .

lairyfairy · 08/11/2007 20:34

When your child is asked out for dinner and people ask you what they would like for tea you just laugh.

Meeely2 · 08/11/2007 20:34

oh and you know u have a fussy eater when you could buy shares in weetabix
