Hi, my 3 year old boy has been sleeping 7pm till 7am since he was 18 months old, its been heaven. However, over the last few weeks he has been occasionally waking up crying because he cant find his teddy (its always either on the floor or slipped down under his duvet). At first it wasnt a problem, i would just go in and find teddy and go back to bed. However, now he is waking up to 4 times a night screaming "WHERES TEDDY!!!" and i have to keep getting up, its getting exhausting and incredibly irritating! How can i encourage him to go back to sleep on his own without me going in to find teddy? Ive tried leaving him, but he cries so long and loudly it sounds like hes going to throw up!

Could you clip his teddy onto his pyjamas or the top of his duvet, with those short elastic clips designed to attach dummies to babies’ clothing? it won’t be long enough to be dangerous/get tangled around his neck, and teddy is never far away/out of reach.

How about getting the teddy a little glow in the dark T-shirt or cooler etc so you're little one can find him.. it may just help x

I think they sometimes just go through phases of needing attention in the night. My dd (just 4) came in the other night ‘where’s pink bunny, daddy? Oh yes she’s in my hand’...... without even pausing for breath. Straight back to bed without any real attention (and perhaps a quick wee).

@LMcmahon

How is your little one sleeping? Any improvement?
