Am i strange?? all of mine have been in cloth from day one, with the dt's i had back-up sposies, but dd has never had one near her. I am expecting dtd's in march and will be using cloth (cheers flame!!) from the moment they're born.

A friend came round to see me the other day and thought it was frankly bizarre that i no longer keep a sposie back-up of nappies or wipes. Dos anyone else rely entirely on cloth nappies and wipes or am i just a fruit loop

I only have the ones left from before i switched to washables. My DH would prefer to use them so they are well hidden for 'just in case' but have only needed them once...

I guess i'll have to use them when we are staying with DH at the hotel in the week, but we've not for a few months now... unless i go to the launderette over the road there. dd gets nappy rash in disposables now, ( well, the one day i had to use them when the WM went on the blink)

I use washable wipes too, but DH draws the line at that for some reason... so we have wipes in use at the weekends

Mine are well out of nappies now, but we used to use 'green' disposables at night due to excessive weeing & when we went on holiday for practical reasons. Used (secondhand) terry squares the rest of the time, & nursery were quite happy to change them - and do the folding! - which impressed us. First time it was standard origami, then we discovered Elliepants (not sure if they're still around, but they were great!). And it was always cotton wool & warm water unless we were out.

sleepcat just to echo pistachio... thrush looks very very angry, and desnt go aways with a bit of airing. It looks like lots of tiny little red spots, and look terribly sore. Canesten clears it up pretty quickly, but for gards sake, get your HV or GP to prescribe it, its a bloody fortune for a teeny tube!

picture of rash here if you read down a bit!

I've got half a bag of nature nappies kicking around somewhere for emergencies and an unopened bag of moltex from our holidays. I'm probably going to get some sposies for the next one to make hospital a bit easier!

i have always got disposibles and always use wipes i tend to use 1 disposie nappy a night but might cut down on them as for the cost it doesn't really matter £4 of nappies will last about 4-6 weeks but love terries

fillthatnappylittlekiwi · 28/01/2008 23:47

No dispos here. Wouldn;t know what size to buy even if I did want them lol, and frankly I couldn't feel comfortable putting any of mine in a paper bum. Yes sometimes I'd like to not have to scrape poo off nappies but then I think of the money saved and smile.

no but we do buy them for holidays.
