Teething at 9 weeks?

My usually VERY placid little baby has been super upset tonight! It crossed my mind last week and also yesterday she may be teething!

Drooling and flushed on & off but otherwise well!

She is so upset tonight & I have ordered a few teething toys but all the gels or powders are for 3+ months & she is obviously not on food yet so cold foods wont help.

Of note, she is a very hungry baby & sometimes cries for more, but mabye once a week is projectile vomit sick..... this has happened tonight too unfortunately! She was SO upset and i think has overate perhaps trying to soothe herself!

Given her some calpol just incase.

Any suggestions for any medicine that wod help teething?? & the overeating!

(GP & HV know and not concerned re the occasional projectile as its not "every time") xxx

Ibruprofen is good for dental pain than Calpol, so it might be worth giving that a try. It's difficult if she is teething though as so many remedies are for older babies. You could always try the old MN favourite the Amber Necklace.

I agree nurofen is better than calpol.

Babies do suddenly start producing more salvia around that age.

There is lots of ‘quackery’ around teething - powders (they are classes as foods so not regulated as medicines) where the only ingredient which may help is a small amount of sugar. Teething necklaces are a choking hazard and it’s based on the idea than a chemical inside (which is only released when heated to over 100c) will somehow magically get into their systems and help. When you get to 5 month anbesol liquid is amazing.
