Hiii.. Bit of advice please.. My little girl is 7 months old (nearly 8) and she just isn't really interested in finger foods. Everything that shouldn't go in her mouth (toys, clothes 🙈 etc) all end up in there straight away.. But as soon as I give her any type of finger foods, she just plays with it and won't put them to her mouth at all, even if I put them to her mouth myself.. She's happy been spoon fed and eats all her meals that she's given.. I just don't know how else to encourage her.. Any advice is very welcome 🙂
Thank you in advance

Start to thicken her baby food. Thicker foods require more movement of the tongue and muscles in the mouth, which helps lay a good foundation for moving a solid piece of food around in her mouth.
It might help to start eating your own food when you feed her if you aren’t already. She will watch what you do and learn a lot from it. When you see that you have her attention, begin to dramatically chew, even with your mouth open. Show her how you put a small piece of food into your mouth using your hand and give some really big chews. It may take finding the right moment to get her attention, but this will help pique her interest.
Some toddlers aren’t super into finger foods and skip right to the challenge (and mess) of trying to spoon feed themselves.
Don’t give her any drink for at least 30 minutes before you offer solids. You want her to be slightly but not overly hungry. And also keep meal and snack times reasonable — if, after 20 minutes he’s refused to eat anything, feel free to end the meal.
She’ll get there! She’ll definitely learn that food + hand (or spoon) + mouth = good.

My baby showed absolutely no interest in feeding himself until he was about 10 months old. I gradually increased the lumpiness of the food I was feeding and he got there in the end!
