How to dress a summer baby??

Hi all
First timer here, expected no. 1 in July and wanted to get some insight on how to dress the baby. Just starting to think of buying stuff now.
Currently living in the States in an area with hideously hot and humid summers (joy)- 35C-45C in July/Aug. Of course we have aircon at home and this being America any indoor space is kept absolutely freezing in summer so a lot of contrasts... its a walkable 'European style' city so will be going from hot to cold quite a bit as opposed to in and out of airconditioned cars etc.
Anyway I realise I am probably massively overthinking this... any advice gratefully received!

For really hot days, the only thing your baby really needs is their nappy and perhaps a short sleeved vest.Try and choose cotton vests.
Even for sleep, a vest or just a nappy are fine on the hottest nights especially if they’re using a sleep bag. If the room is under 24°C they might need an extra layer and I’d go for a long-sleeved footed sleepsuit.
Consider what you yourself are comfortable wearing and use that as a guide.
I would buy a few cardigans in 0-3 months as you can roll the sleeves up if it is a bit too big to start with.
When they are in the pram, use a clip-on parasol or sunshade. Don’t cover the pram with a blanket, towel or muslin because they can overheat.
If you plan on baby-wearing during the summer, keep in mind that your they will be absorbing your body heat and get a carrier or sling made of cotton.

My DD is a summer baby and was born in a UK heatwave and we lived in a flat which itself reached 29 degrees. She basically just wore vests for the first 6 weeks of her life til it cooled down. You can easily add a pair of leggings or joggers, socks and a cardy if you're inside somewhere cool, or sleepsuit.

My DS was born in June and we live near Chicago so v hot in the summer.

Mostly he wore just a short sleeved vest or a short arm and short legged romper suit in the summer. We had a lot of muslin blankets which were handy for wiping up the constant sick, but also for covering him up if we went inside to somewhere cooler or outside in the sun.

I would plan a lot of vests and then some thin blankets for when you go into overly cold air conditioned places
