Diarrhea

My 3 year old DS1 has been completely dry and clean during the day for sometime, although he still needs a nappy at night. However, in the past few days he's developed a bad attack of diarrhea, and if it continues I'll take him to the doctor. In the meantime, he can't control himself poor thing, and messes his pants every five minutes, which upsets him. So rather than have to clean up everywhere, I've put him back into nappies. He seems happier with this, but my concern is this might encourage him to regress. Are there any other options?

There's nothing else you can do. I would also use nappies again for my dc in these circumstances. I wouldn't worry about regression until it happens, and the chances are it won't happen.

Thanks belgo. I knew I did'nt really have any option. It's just that feeling of regression having got him out of day nappies fairly early on.

DS1 has had some particularly dirty nappies today. I have always used terry nappies, and favour the kite fold. However, I'm wondering whether there are any other folds that may be better at containing runny poo?

can you not make your life a bit easier and use some pull ups? pampers are the best IME.

I was thinking of that, but a friend with a DD with the same problem told me she found them to be really messy taking them off at change time. I would have thought unpinning a terry nappy was easier. It's a question of getting the fold right. Thanks anyway.
