Disposable nappy recommendations for big 2.5 year old

My 2.5 year old DD is the weight of a 6 year old and the height of a 4 year old and has out grown all supermarket nappies. She is wearing 6 year old clothing - she's 23kg and 98cm tall.

For those worried about her health, she is not obese - she is extremely solid and in proportion and the paediatricians are satisfied she is metabolically and genetically healthy.

She's just a big girl and we're on Pampers 8's with roughly a month to find the next size up. Does anyone know of any larger disposable nappies for big toddlers? We have tried Mama Bear and Bambo with no luck - their biggest nappies are still too small - tbh they fit the same as the Pampers 8's...

Thank you!

Have you considered using huggies drynites? They keep dry overnight so I'm sure would work in day. My twins use them at night, they do a size for 4 to 7 year olds.

Potty train.

Potty train.
Not helpful . She's 2.5, fairly young by anyone's standards.

Thanks @alluser1493494961 - she has a global development delay (new information sorry) and not ready for potty training

Great suggestion @ladygindiva ty! Have ordered a sample!

You didn't have to add that in op. Neither of my twins were dry at 2.5.

ladygindiva · 09/03/2021 22:21

Great! We find them fine for through the night, and seem comfortable.

Itsjustaride8w737 · 09/03/2021 22:22

Dd wasn't dry until 3.5 (autism) so potty training isn't always possible.

Dry nites are good, i also found the largest huggies size good but i don't think they sell them anymore...

PeanutButterCrumpets · 09/03/2021 22:33

Ty @ladygindiva - i'm perpetually in explanatory mode with the everyone informing me DD is delayed! She's closing the gap fairly quickly now (yay!) so my worries about her potentially starting school in nappies will hopefully not be a reality Grin

Thanks @Itsjustaride8w737 - good to know. I am hoping DD can shake the nappies within the next year (will also be 3.5 ish)

Have you tried these from tescos?

Hey op, stop panicking. My twins turned 4 at Xmas and actually go to school in September and we are still struggling with one in day, 90 % there though, and neither are dry at night. I've stopped stressing. And before anyone jumps in and judges I have an older dc who was dry by 2.5 so I do know what I'm doing. As far as I know no developmental issues here, both early talkers, can read etc, just late at potty training! Whatever you do, don't let anyone judge you and your child. No one needs that on top of everything.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 10/03/2021 06:57

My DS is 2.5 and nowhere near ready for toilet training either, so you're fine op!

PeanutButterCrumpets · 10/03/2021 15:14

Oh god @ladygindiva I am totally a serial worrier (def not warrier let's be clear about that). Of late doing like Ms. Swift and shaking it off a lot more Smile. Agreed DD will get there, your replies have helped a ton, tysm!

Oh gosh @Flyingfrogspawn those look great - I will absolutely give these a go!

So good to know @TheLovleyChebbyMcGee - I think in reality we're a good year away. With crawling, standing and walking, there was little lead up with DD - she wakes up one morning and just does it. I'm half expecting she'll be heading for the loo the morning we start school lol

Have you tried Asda’s little angels nappies in 6+?
Mine is 4 and still uses them for nighttime -‘is 112cm tall and 23kg and they are great and we very rarely have leaks
(Which is a miracle as they refuse to go to bed without a water bottle and drink loads during the night 🙄🙄)

Findahouse21 · 10/03/2021 21:29

If I remember correctly the drynite type pants are relatively expensive so I'd second those recommending pads/nappies for older children who aren't yet continent

PeanutButterCrumpets · 13/03/2021 20:46

Ah thank you @Hartleyhare1206 your LO is the same weight as my DD although your LO is taller but I am very keen to give them a go. My DD also drinks a ton so i'm happy to hear these nappies are good absorbers too! Smile

The package says they are for 20kg + and they seem to be true to their word for us. Also
Much cheaper than dry-nites so worth a try! Hope they work for you xx
