Lactose free formula? HELP!

Hi!
Not sure if this has been asked before but I couldnt find anything.
Long story short, health visitor has just suggested buying lactose free cow and gate formula for ds2 who is 6 weeks. Originally thought he had silent reflux (ds1 had this and ds2 has exact same signs), but now shes thinking that it could be lactose intolerant.
Hes gaining weight ok and following the same line, but ive been told he does need to bulk up a little more (25th centile weight, 91st length). He was born 38 weeks via c-section, due to a number of issues, stopped growing, transverse/unstable lie with the cord wrapped around his neck and the placenta not working properly. I also had gestdatinal diabetes so at birth he was taken to SCABU due to not feeding from bottle or breast and his after feed readings were dangerously low.
I went through a period of obsessing over his feeding as he went from 7lb12 to 6lb2 in 2 days. Hes now 10lb so I'm hoping to get things on track and hopefully get a bit more weight onto him.
Anyway I'm rambling, just a couple of questions really...
1.Which formula is the lactose free? The only one I can see that says reduced lactose is comfort milk.
2.If anybody's little ones out there are lactose intolerant what signs did they show? Are the signs similar to reflux? Little confused as ds2 is showing exact same symptoms as ds1 did with his reflux, only difference is ds2 has very runny (I'd say diarreha) poos.

Any help would be appreciated :)
Thank you in advance!

Lactose intolerance in babies is incredibly rare. It’s much more likely to be CMPA for specialist milk you would need to see your GP but if his weight is following his centile then his weight is fine. I can’t imagine a GP would prescribe specialist formula for a bit of reflux.

I would be speaking to another HV or your GP or asking for a referal to a Paediatrician if they think your baby is under weight.

SMA do a lactose free formula, but agree with pp for likely to be a cows milk allergy. My baby is on SMA milk free soya formula her symptoms were more skin related and flare ups of eczema which we couldn't control which is now controlled, she did also have very runny poos though which have now firmed up

Lactose is in breastmilk as @Thatwentbadly said it’s very rare.

Aptimil pepti 1 is for CMPA there are others but that ones pretty reasonably priced. If you wanted to try that route.

Thank you so much for your quick replies!
I did think it a bit strange that it would be an intolerance (would understand more if I was breast feeding).
Have just been on the phone to the drs to see what they say, advised me to use the comfort milk (as it wont do any harm) and if that doesnt work to ring back. They weren't overly concerned about his weight as hes gained a lot back from the 6lb2 he dropped to. They do think it's likely reflux but dont like to give gaviscon or anything to babies this young.
Thank you all again for your replies and advice, just get a bit panicky that he doesnt weigh more. Had none of this with ds1! He was a greedy baby from the start and on 99th centile for height and weight and still is now at nearly 3. Know i shouldnt compare but find it hard not to sometimes. And especially since ds2 was quite poorly at birth just makes me a bit overly cautious with his weight.
I will just carry on as I am at moment, just a case of keeping him upright and giving lots of cuddles :)

@Titch1993 I'm in exact same boat at the minute!
9 week old ds has always been uncomfortable/gripey unsettled- had tongue tie initially so I hoped that would sort things out when he had it cut at 3 weeks, improved the latch but still unhappy baby.
Then he was prescribed gaviscon for silent reflux, got very constipated on that so they said to reduce dose & prescribed omeprazole instead (he's now just taking omeprazole).
In between all this he came out in a bad rash which landed us in A&E.
Long story short I was breastfeeding until just over a week ago when I put him on aptamil which made him even more gripey than usual & he was up all night for 3 nights straight 😳 so I have changed to hipp comfort & he is so much better!! I'm pretty sure it's an allergy/intolerance so I'm going to ring to try & get some lactose free prescribed but would love to know if you find any over the counter to try in case they fob me off which my health visitor has said they will do!

@Freshair85 - we have tried the sma soya that your little one is on and the difference is amazing! Hes been on it a couple days now and no more diarrhoea and he has become far less uncomfortable during feeds. Still a long way to go with other symptoms but thank you for recommending that formula, it's worked really well for his toilets!! (One less thing off my mind!)
@violetclouds- was your little ones tounge tie obvious? A midwife suggested my ds had one but it was not a bad one so would not impact his feeding (I had to give up trying to breast feed as he just wouldnt latch on at all and in the end managed to take a bottle but he still takes the bottle in a strange way when hes feeding and I takes a couple of tries to get him to feed properly).
Sounds like you've been through quite a bit with your ds already! I've been lucky with nights, cant imagine being up for 3 night in a row!
We're on sma soya at moment (the one freshair85 suggested) and so far it made a huge difference to his stomach so I'm thinking it is a form of intolerance after all. Definitely has reflux aswel and colic (had a screaming fit for 6hrs last night) but I dont know if we landed ourselves in a cycle of being too tired to eat and then too hungry to sleep.

Thanks to everyone again for your help, it's great to have others inputs on things. I'm not too sure on what health visitors say sometimes as it took so long to get ds1 on track and better after being fobbed off. (Wish id signed up here before!)
