Hi all!

I'm due in a few weeks so need to start washing the baby's clothes.

I know we should go for non-bio, but are they any specific brands anyone can recommend?

Thank you!

I use Napisan for my baby

Any non-bio will do. We use Lidl's and it's always suited our skin Smile

Always fairy for us, it's the only one we use as I can't stand strong smelling washing at all.

We never bothered washing clothes or anything though. I didn't even know it was a thing until I read it on here

Always Fairy detergent (and softener) for new babies! It’s a family tradition. The smell is babies Grin.

It doesn’t get stains out (especially the yellow poonamis) so I always went back to Ariel after a few months.

Bio is fine for baby. Just avoid fabric conditioner. I never washed clothes before they were worn.

We've used Bio D for years now and before that, Faith in Nature. DH's eczema only tolerates those brands so think they are very gentle. Just read on a different thread that quick washes can cut out a rinse so now we also use the 2.5 or 3 hour wash cycles and the drum does seem less bubbly at the end compared to shorter washes.

whatever you use is absolutely fine.
no need to buy anything specially.

Ecover and no fabric conditioner

You don't need a non-bio. If you/baby have skin sensitivities it's more than likely to be a specific scent your allergic to rather than the biological enzymes. So if you're worried just don't use fabric conditioner at all, which is more heavily scented.

Despite knowing this, because I have dry skin and eczema I still bought Fairy non-bio for when DS was born. I felt guilted into doing so and that I would be a bad mum if I didn't, which is quite ridiculous, with hindsight.

After the first two weeks of endless scrubbing baby vomit stains which non-bios just do not get clean, I switched to Ariel and haven't looked back.
