Bed near a window

My child's room has an awkward layout and basically it means his bed would run along side a double glazed window. I have a window restrictor on the window even through it's locked 24/7 anyway. But someone told me a toddler would be able
To lean on the window and pop the glass out if they climbed on to the sill (?!?!)

So my question is.... should the bed run along side a radiator or a window?

The only 2 walls have built in furniture 😓

Thank you!!

Does it need to run along a wall at all?

May sound weird as it is a typical British thing to do, but beds can be put in the middle of a room. Obviously it depends on the size of the room.

It's a IKEA Hermes so it's got a really high side on one side. I'd be worried to put that in the middle of the floor in case he decided to jump over the high side if that make any sense?

I’m not sure windows popping out is a thing....otherwise houses would be really easy to burgle!

Personally I’d pick a locked window over a radiator, if I had to choose.

A toddler won't pop a window out. I live with a joiner and have had to help with our own windows before, I couldn't do it alone. As others, would prefer over a radiator

Thank you, I will do that! That was my gut feeling

I once had my bed against a radiator. Ouch. Accidentally elbowing it in the night hurt. It hurt more so when it was on and I got a bit of a burn too.

Decent double glazed windows are pretty tough. I doubt the popping out thing is more than an urban myth to be honest. If you're really concerned then perhaps having a bar put up across might alleviate some worry?

@ChangedName4TheSakeOfIt good idea thank you!! I'll have a look into it
