First Birthday presents

Hi everyone
I was wondering if any of you had an idea of what a good first birthday present could be for my little one. We’ve had a tough year (as I’m sure you all have!) and I’d like to get a “big” present for her birthday but not sure what she might like at that age? I know she won’t remember / mind but looking into it will keep me occupied for a bit.

She’s one in July so a little way off yet but I want to start looking soon.

Some ideas I had were:
Soft play style blocks / house
Wooden climbing frame
A swing for the garden
A wooden toybox

Did you have any of the above? What sort of toy was your little one’s favourite at one?
Ideally I think I’d like something that she can get use out of for a long time, bonus points if it encourages moving about!

Does she have a little bike or tricycle? Big hit with both mine.
Otherwise they are mostly overwhelmed by birthday presents at that age.
I bought a gold bullion coin for each of mine, took their photos with them then put them away until they are 18.

@MySocalledLoaf ooh a bike/ trike is a great idea. I’ll add that to the potential list, thanks!

What about a rocking horse type toy? Appropriate for babies/toddlers. A play tent? A ball pit/paddling pool ( good for July) or a ride on style toy . Like the idea of big foam blocks, they are really versatile and will be played with for a long time indoors or outdoors.

Sandpit

@Rubiales678 great ideas, thank you

@Fivemoreminutes1 my only worry with a sandpit is that our cats (and next doors) would get more use out of it! I’ll look into covered ones though and see if we can find a robust one, thanks

We got a little slide. Used until she got a bigger one for her third birthday (and by little sister!)
The trampoline with the handle was popular too.
Ride on toys.
Doll in a pushchair.
Duplo
Wooden blocks
Tea set
Books
Musical instruments

(We didn't buy all these, most were from family!)

The pikkler triangle things seem popular now.

Garden swing / slide will be well used.
Happyland farm / house / fairy house
Wooden tea set

an annual pass to somewhere local with something to to do all year round. A toddler sized football set, a chalk board, a scooter but that might be better next Xmas development wise.

A swing is only good if you are prepared to push her on it for the next 2-3 years! I found it was better not to and have a reason to go to the park.

I am going to ask for a busy board (some nice ones on Etsy) which have things to fiddle with
