Eating well at nursery but not at home

My ds is 27 months and use to eat really well when he was younger but has started refusing to eat lunch and dinner at home, we never have a problem with breakfast, it’s frustrating as he is eating most of his meals at nursery, even when we offer him the same foods at home he refuses them. We keep trying to not get frustrated by it but it’s becoming a daily occurrence, has anyone else had similar issues with food and toddlers? Not really sure what to do, any advice welcome

I think it's peer pressure tbh! Apparently mine eats all sorts at nursery - either they're lying or he manages to get over his aversion to vegetables in front of his friends.

I think part of it is that they see other children eating it so join in.

The other part of it is that the nursery staff can't be expected to remember how much each individual child ate and what they left. Therefore they might tell little Timmys mum he ate all his cucumber at snack when in reality they can't remember.

This is really really common. Kids eat what they're given at nursery because everyone else is and there isn't an alternative. Also kids are much more likely to argue back or whinge and whine for their parents than with another adult. They do grow out of this phase eventually, but don't expect it any time soon

Nurseries are magic. They can also get DS to nap without being cuddled. Magic.

Indeed.
Nursery staff are really wizards in disguise.
It is incredibly common that dc eat stuff there they won't touch with a bargepole at home.

My son will eat two portions of absolutely everything at nursery. Nothing he won't eat. Vegetables included. At home I may as well offer him a bowl of acid for the reaction I get to it :)
