Parents of late bloomers...

Please make me feel better.

I have an adorable 14month old DS, he's my second so you would think I'd be really chilled about things but my first DS is almost 6 and most likely will be diagnosed with some kind of developmental issue (ADHD/ASD possibly) and I can't help but wonder what's gonna happen with my 2nd.

He's doing fine generally and is far ahead communication wise than DS1 was, by that I mean he understand basic things like "bring me the car" or "give me the book" etc. But only has 3 regular words: Mama, Duck, Llama. I know that this is fine considering DS1 didn't have words until 2.5!

He's not walking though and not close, he pulls up and cruises but can't stand on his yet although it's mostly down to lack of confidence.

He also has NO teeth so eating varying foods is hard for him. DS1 didn't get his first tooth until 15 months so he's following in the same footsteps.

I just keep seeing everyone else's children speeding through milestones but for some reason my kids take ages. Anyone else in the same boat?

That was long, I just wondering if anyone could relate. I suffer from extreme anxiety after having my kids and I'm on antidepressants again post partum. I thought talking to other parents of late bloomers night help.

14 months isn't late for walking Smile

It's hard but you really need to relax and stop worrying about development (within reason of course!)

I know how you feel, my son had a speech delay etc
