Sun cream advice needed!

Hi! My little boy is almost 10 weeks old and I was just wondering if anyone had any sun cream recommendations for sensitive skin? He can't use perfumed stuff like Johnson's baby stuff. We use child's farm sensitive bath wash with him and Aveeno emollient cream on his face to stop his skin drying out and getting a rash. Just wondering if anyone knew which creams were best! Thanks!

You are supposed to keep them out of direct sunlight when they are babies. Use a baby suncream if you have no other shaded options.

You seem a bit tetchy, think you should calm down a bit.

Not sure if you use an iPhone, but the weather app shows the UV index and even in the brightest sunlight it’s been a 1 or max 2 all week.

I wouldn’t worry about sunscreen until the index is 4 or higher.

Sun is important for vitamin D absorbed through the skin so, presuming you are UK based, I can’t see that you will need sun screen for your baby this early in the year

OP I remember being a first time mum and it's an anxious time and you can feel like you're being criticised. I'd like to think your nasty Karen and bless type comments are kneejerk and from a place of defence but really, people have been helpful and you've misunderstood. Backing down with good grace is really the best thing to do. We've all been worried parents. We do get it.

I avoided (and still do) v hot sun for my sensitive skinned children and find a balance between lots of sunlight in a morning and late afternoon evening but when they're going to be unavoidably out in it - like school for example - used aldis sensitive spf 50 stuff. It has a high UVA rating too.

This is generic ‘common denominator’ advice. BAME and jaundiced kids often get very different advice - OP if in doubt speak to your HV.

I'm talking about babies under 6 months. No baby under 6 months needs to be in direct sunlight
