Surely she must wee soon! Please after all thie time please let her wee on the potty rather than the floor!! How can she hold it this long, if she had a nappy on she'd have been changed by now!

i started potty training dd (3)again since last tuesday and on that first day she went around 5-6 hours without weeing! she finally weed and went here you go, and since she wees around 5-6 times a day on her potty. now i need to venture out with her without any nappy!

Still nothing on potty, i put her in pants this morning (for the 3rd day) she will jsut hold it rather than wee on potty/ floor - I guess that's really good but how do i get her to do it on potty, she is sitting on it regularly enough, I'm trying the do a wee on potty and i'll give you sweets but she just tantrums for the sweets!

DS recently potty trained and he can hold his wee for a surprising amount of time! 4 hours is usual for him

LoveMyGirls · 05/11/2007 08:38

Shall I continue the softly softly approach, which means putting her in pants whenever we are at home or shall i bite the bullet and put her in pants all the time?

A couple of months ago my parents had DD overnight, they brought her back at 10 in the morning, and my mum was a little surprised/concerned that DD hadn't been to the loo yet. She finally went at 5.30 in the afternoon, after drinking normally all day - she'd been trained a while at the time, but still VERY surprising how long she managed to hold on!

MamaG · 05/11/2007 08:39

oh bite hte bullett without a doubt

thats what I did, with both mine.

No mixed messages. DS still wears nappy for bed at night though.

LoveMyGirls · 05/11/2007 08:47

Dd still has a nap in the day so i'd need to put one on for then. She's 2.1yrs.

Ohh I'm scared - need more reassuring stories.....shouldnbt i wait until she is using the potty without just holding until i put her in nappies?

No.
If you want to do it now, you must bite the bullett.

DD was dry, day and night, by age 2

DS was dry day only by 3...and a bit

Buy loads of pairs of knickers, stay in for a few days as much as possible and plonk her on the potty (or the loo, as i did) every 20-30 mins. If she wees, give sticker/choc button.

Praise madly, don't tell off for accidents and go for it.

If you are going to do it, I really think you have to go the whole hog! Good luck

I'm not that bothered really, mil is more bothered, I'm happy to go with whatever dd is happy with really, I'd like her to be properly trained by or around christmas even then theres no great rush for her to be in pants other than it will save us money (always handy)

I'm a childminder so staying in all week is a no no if i can possibly help it because of school runs and toddler groups etc which is why i was planning to do it round christmas when we won't be going anywhere and if we do it will only be to family. Or to just put her in pants while we're in the house now she has bladder control and isn't just wee-ing on the floor all the time.

It's been about 5 yrs since I potty trained dd1 so this is all new to me now lol.
