"Can you say mama?" "No, DADDY"

My toddler is 18 months, has about 30 words. Can say moo, milk, more etc so M's aren't the problem. Says daddy a million times a day, in the right context I.e to his dad "up daddy/no daddy/yes daddy" but if you ever, and I mean ever say "say mummy, say mama, copy me, mama" he just says "No, DADDY!"

He did it a few times in front of people who laughed a lot and found it hilarious, so I think he may just be performing now. But it sucks! Will he ever say mummy? Envy

My DS used to throw himself on DH when he came in the door shrieking DADDY!!! and do an impression of an angel after he'd had me tearing my hair out.

He said Yoda before mummy too. I mean, coming second to a furry green puppet? Not cool DS.

It's as well they're cute Grin

Same here. My DD is 2 and when daddy picks her up from nursery she screams 'Its Daddy!' in her loudest voice..... I pick her up and she points at me and laughs. She constantly says 'daddy', 'thank you daddy', 'play daddy'.

She has only ever said 'mum' a handful of times and always after I have left for work so I have never heard her 🙄 apparently when she notices that I've gone she will sometimes knock on the door and call out 'Mum' to see if I will come back 🤷 but if she is tired/upset/unwell she only wants my cuddles - daddy is only for playing 😁
