Milk supply drastically dropped! Help?

My baby is just turning 4 weeks old and wouldn't breastfeed so I decided to pump. At the beginning I was getting a huge amount of milk every pump session, about 8oz easy, but last week all of a sudden it just seemed to disappear. I've done skin-to-skin, stuck to a strict pump schedule, drank plenty of water and it's still going down!
I've tried multiple pumps, nipple shields, nothing seems to work! When I hand express there is milk there but it won't come out in the pumps, but it did up until last week! It all fits correctly and everything works. So what could be the issue?
I get about 5ml a session now and I'm scared it's just going to dry up. When I've spoken to a nurse she said it'll come back but I can't see it! Any help?

I'd try La Leche League or NCT breastfeeding support for help. Is there any chance you can get your baby to latch? Even just comfort sucking while you express on the other side. Plus oats are meant to be good for milk, so eat porridge and flapjacks if you can. You probably need to pump a lot to mimic a bf newborn. Mine fed every two hours day and night. What schedule are you on? Also you need to avoid medication like Sudafed which is designed to dry up cold mucus but also dries up milk.

Have you tried the sock trick? Pop a sock over the bottle whilst you’re pumping so you can’t see how much is coming out. It’s meant to reduce your stress about the amount and that will increase the flow. Also try being near baby when you’re doing it or looking at videos or pictures to get the oxytocin flowing.

Also there’s no evidence that it works but anecdotally I’ve found oats did help my supply... may have just been a placebo effect but it’s an easy thing to try!
