What does your baby wear in carrier

I'm going on lots of walks at the moment and my baby is on my chest front facing. It's about 12 degrees, what would you dress your baby in? Especially incase it rains

I didn't ever really face DS out as legs then got in the way but as a baby, he'd have probably been in trousers then coat with hood up (mostly so we didn't lose a hat) or snow suit if colder. But then he has an internal furnace....

General rule is baby should be in one more layer than you, your body heat counts as a layer and the carrier as well, I have a coat that zips over the carrier so on a mild day like this week my little boy just has a vest, top, leggings or joggers on, then I put an extra pair of socks on him and a hat and zip the coat over him if it's breezy. In colder weather I add a cardigan and I have some leg warmers, and little boots and mittens from JoJo that keep his hands and feet warm. Snow suits are not recommended in carriers because they can affect the positioning and baby can get very hot with your body heat as well.

Sorry that's supposed to say he's facing my chest

While it’s been more mild this week I’ve had my 4 month old in a vest, sleepsuit, fleecy coat, these little trousers from m&s with feet on and a hat. Hes always seemed the perfect temp when I feel his chest during walks and sleeps soundly most of the way through! He would be way too hot in his pramsuit in current weather

Mine's been in vest, sleepsuit, socks, hat and a fleecy thin jacket. I zip my coat over her if it's windy or suddenly gets cold. I've been wearing jumpers so plenty of warmth coming from me too.

Hi, I'm a babywearing consultant and get this question a lot. The sling counts as a layer and your body heat will help too. Facing you is great as baby's face will be protected from the wind. Thin layers are best, and snowsuits not recommended as they can cause overheating and poor positioning, even dangerous slumping which could compromise baby's airway. So I normally go with a vest, footless sleepsuit or top and leggings, cardi or jumper, socks, plus an extra pair of thick long socks or booties (mocc'on style ones are great), a hat, plus my coat around baby too, or a babywearing cover or simply a blanket around the outside of the sling. If it's really cold, a thin fleece all in one suit is fine, Jojo or Lidl do some lovely ones.

In 12 degrees not lots! She wears a vest, top, leggings, booties, hat and I zip my fleece jacket up around her.

If it's windy or more like 5 degrees I'll put leg warmers over her leggings too, as they're quite thin.

DS is facing me but he only wears a vest and babygrow otherwise he gets too sweaty. Then knitted socks up to his knees and a hat. I then zip my massive winter coat over the pair of us. He’s nice and toasty.
