Storing formula

Just after some advice really. My DS is formula fed and at home we use the perfect prep machine (rightly or wrongly but it works for us!). Twice a week I've been going to my Mum's house for the day for a change of scenery (she is in our bubble). I have have taking round the premade cartons of formula but it is becoming expensive. So I am going to take my powder and bottles round and make them up round her house. My question is once I have made the bottles up with the boiled water do I need to flash cool them before putting them in the fridge? Or just put them in? I know ideally each feed should be made fresh but it isn't really practical waiting 30 mins for the kettle water. I've looked on the NHS website but I'm not sure! Thanks everyone! X

I'd cool them a bit under running water and then put in the fridge.

We have the perfect prep machine here and similarly I go to my mums once a week. What I do is something I learnt on here that works great for us. You basically mimic the perfect prep machine. So in a morning boil the kettle and pour into a jug and leave to cool (I do this as first job when I arrive at mums so it's ready for his feed later on but if you know you need it sooner you could ask her to sort it before you get there to give it chance to cool) then when it comes to bottle time you make the bottle by boiling the kettle, use the boiling water to dissolve the formula then top up with the cooled water. Check the prep machine for the ratios for the bottle size you need but I make 8oz bottles and do 2oz boiling, formula in, 6oz cooled.
