How many of you ignore the 3+ guidelines on toys?

Is it just me being wanton? My almost 2-year old seems to be fine with these toys - I don't give him anything with gratuitously small parts that look appetising, and he generally doesn't put things in his mouth. In any case, he's supervised most of the time. I realised while wrapping the presents for his second birthday that none of them are supposedly suitable for him for another year. Tell me I'm not alone here, please.

Never ignored them for PFB, but when I had DC2, there were oodles of 3+ toys around, so applied my own judgement (as with so many aspects of parenting 2nd child!!!!)

There don't seem to be many toys out there for the 2-3 age bracket.

I just look to see if there are bits that can be swallowed easily. If not, then I figure it's fine.

I always found that it was easy to buy for ds when he was under 2 and keep to what the packages say, but the elusive 2-3 is when i started to use my own judgement on what i found suitable. Now that hes 3.5 all i look at is whether he able to get the toy developmentally eg transformers-ds wants, but i know there is no way he could fathom how to transform them properly so would probably get thrown down the stairs in frustration
