you need a dolly that wees to use your nappies on(or another baby)

congratulations to your ds3!!how old is he?

nappiesLaGore · 02/11/2007 21:22

um... ... nearly 22m. kind of early for a boy (or for my boys anyway lol) but then he has a 3yo and 4yo brother, a 7yo half brother and he thinks they are all gods and cant wait to do all they can. he walked at 10m fgs (had a head covered in bruises and bumps for months too as balance wasnt up to much, poor scrap. i even contemplated getting one of those ridiculous baby crash helmets!!)

and i am studiously ignoring the new baby comment

ignore ignore!!!
do you think using cloth helped in anyway to tiolet train earlier?
i have dd7,ds6 and ds 23 months.ds2 really isnt anywhere near ready but im dreading it and rembering saying after ds1 that i didnt want more children because of potty training!!

thats so sweet that he wants to be like his big brothers!

nappiesLaGore · 02/11/2007 21:48

myjob - ahhh, newborn fluffiness sounds gorgeous.
good luck with no 2 for you!

moljam - just couldnt face another baby for a few years as im pretty sure i couldnt cope with any more right now! in a few years time however, when the current crop are a bit bigger it might be rather nice to have just one to lavish lots of time and patience on

no idea if the cloth helped the early training - you may have a point there, hadnt thought about it tbh.
i know that our half term hol (just back from) had a big part to play... we were in cyprus in an entirely wipe-clean house (tiles everywhere), warm weather, and didnt take the washable nappies with us, so he was bottom-less most of the time (his skin seems to really react to diposies so we kept them to a minimum.)
he just started demanding to be taken to the loo and/or peeing in pots or bowls (!) or over the balcony (snort!) and it seems churlish not to continue the progress now we are home.

but god yes, i agree that potty training is just the worst thing. i totally stuck my head in the sand about it with the first two. was nursery which finally did it for them

thanks

crikey no, not nighttime too. have head in sand approach to that too!

ds1 (4.5) still has a pair of pull ups on at night, tho they are rarely wet and he asked tonight not to wear them... i made him tho as i couldnt be arsed to deal with possible wet top bunk in the night

ds2 (3.4) still soaks a nappy overnight, but is accident free in the daytime nowadays.

i figure theyll just decide one day to be dry and do it.

great job, i like dd 18mo to be nappyless or wear knickers dp goes mad at me cause im always sitting her on toilet or potty btw she says before she does a wee so thats sure sign shes ready but she dont like the potty she will stop down stairs not doing any accidents then wees as soon as we get into the bathroom lol

nappiesLaGore · 02/11/2007 22:32

will try to remember myjob

18m is really little, but like you say, if you are reading her signs, theres no reason it mightnt owrk.

in fact some people do toilet taining from birth, its called something to do with signals or communication or something. good on em, i say. i am a huge fan of good communication

what will i do when hes trained? i cant v well hang out here on the nappy boards where its all nice and safe when theyre not even inthem. sigh.
and ill have to give all my lovely fluff to my cousin in wales.
actually, maybe ill just give her some (the B-P stuff, it'll be for a newborn) and send the rest to ophanages in tibet or something.
