A simple electronic toy with big buttons that when pressed make a specific, short, sound?

We have a turn and learn cube but when buttons are pressed it sparks off a whole chain with different buttons lighting up and a long jingle playing. I have no clue what is going on so I don't think 6 month old DD can appreciate the cause and effect at all Hmm

It needs to be buttons rather than whacking things with a hammer etc as she's not that coordinated yet.

Thanks!

The leapfrog groove drum set may be just what you're looking for!

You can get keyboards that make animal noises as well as key sounds. But they tend to also have songs/demo modes? But that might be an option if you find a simple one?

Also any other recommendations for interesting but simple toys for a 6 month old would be good. I think she wants things that show cause and effect but her motor skills are limited.. e.g. she like her spinny plunger thing but needs help to use it.

She's probably nearly old enough for my famous playing cards in an SMA tin game! My daughter would play for AGES. Cut a slot in the plastic lid and let her post playing cards in!!!

We have a John Lewis “remote control” like this.

What about shakers or other simple musical instruments? You can make them at home with bottles with different things in for different sounds (dry rice, dry pasta, crumbled foil, anything that will make a noise). Knocking down towers of stacking cups was my wee girl's favourite cause and effect game at that age, but definitely not independent – adult/older child required to build the tower!

Thanks all!

We have ordered a baby Einstein play and glow thingy. Seems like a super simple keyboard so 🤞

Ha! Yeah I had read that she should be wanting to put stuff in boxes about now.. however she is still on the chucking stuff out of boxes phase for now Hmm Sounds like one to remember for a few months time though.

She has a gazillion shakers..

Knocking down stacking cups is a good idea. I hadn't got any for her yet as there's no way she could stack them herself but she could definitely whack them over!
