Sippy cup letting in too much air?

crazymuseummumtobe · 05/02/2021 08:33

My husband removed the spout of our son's TT free flow sippy cup to clean it, and now that it's back together, when DS sucks on it, it's just got loads of air coming through and barely any water. Any tips, please?! TIA.

Are they designed to come apart?
Which cup is it?

Get a Munchkin 360. The whole silicone thing pops off for super easy cleaning. It’s also a more natural way to drink and better for teeth.

@dementedpixie It's a TT free flow, the basic one. I don't think it is, no. But husband did it anyway!

@Ostryga We have one, thanks, but DS (12m) just can't get the hang of it. I'll continue to offer it, but also have to use the TT so he actually gets some fluid.

Yeah, I dont think you're supposed to take the spout off. Might be best buying a new one. At least they are cheap

I've never taken mine off and I usually dismantle everything. Might be time for a new one unfortunately!

I'm now a bit paranoid there might be dirt lurking inside ours though... Did he see anything when he opened it up?

dementedpixie · 05/02/2021 08:54

Could soak it in Milton to kill anything lurking

crazymuseummumtobe · 05/02/2021 09:03

@xHeartinacagex Yeah - DS has done baby led weaning, so lots of food goo from his hands had gotten in to where the spout flips up. I'll get a new one and flush it through a bit more regularly.

@crazymuseummumtobe BLW mess here too 😂 I'll be sure to give it a very powerful rinse next time!
