Night potty training

Dd2.8 has been potty trained for a while. Shes has very occasional accidents if we're out and shes really tired or if she's very distracted. Otherwise, if we're at the park for example, she'll tell me.

Anyway, the last few nights, as soon as she's had her nappy on and done one wee before bedtime in it, she whips it off and asks for another. I've decided to give night training a go.

I'll get a mattress protector and lots more sheets. I'll put a potty in her room. Is there anything else I should get equipment wise and anything I should do to prep?

I asked her what she would do if she needed a wee at night and she said she'd tell me.

You can't really train for night time. Has she had dry nappies overnight? That's when I stopped night nappies

My daughter has had dry nappies overnight since we potty trained her so we’ve taken her nappies off at night. I was prepared to leave night much longer though and I don’t think I’d had tried if she wasn’t always dry.

I didn't remove nappies at night until we had about 3 weeks of dry nights with nappies

Another one here who doesn't believe night training works. It's hormonal. Just make her have a wee before bed and wait for her to be reliably dry. My DD 3 has been dry for about a fortnight. I've done nothing to 'train' this. I'm still putting her in a pull up though as I'm too scared to take it away yet! Grin

Ok that's almost a relief to hear. I'll wait till she's dry at night but might stop putting her nappy on until she's actually in bed. Always get her ready for bed before supper so she has it on for an hour or so before she goes up. Will get her to try and have a wee on the potty, then nappy on and story. Thanks!
