Hi everyone I'm literally at my wits end I've tried everything I mean everything my little one had colic reflux and milk allergy and at 6 months dietitian decided to transition her to normal milk so everything went great. So in and around December she started becoming so restless at night and during naps she would rub her eyes and cry but not open her eyes she would thrash around and spit her dummy out so I have to bring water and milk to bed to settle her from this I would have to feed her this would constantly happen all night she would take 18oz all together I just don't know why she is doing this dietitian wasn't much help so rang the doctor she feels it was reflux she's on omeprozole but I'm so confused she still hadn't settled and it is day 4 and I'm literally running on empty I could cry she is 7 months now.

How does she get to sleep? It sounds like she's just not learnt to link her sleep cycles, and it waking up lots - this is probably a sleep problem not a food problem. If you feed her every time she wakes up, she'll need feeding every time she wakes up. Break the cycle, settle her without feeding, and feed her more in the day to make up for it.

She needs nursed i know my own fault but she was sick and at start and I suffered PND still do when she cries my anixety goes 0 to 100 in mins. She eats so much during the day lol but I've tried not feeding her and she's squealed sore till she got it @ @Ohalrightthen

If she has CMPI then why is she on normal milk. Symptoms do not just disappear at 6 months. If it's severe then she's unlikely to take milk because she knows it hurts! My little boy used to scream after the first sip from a 'normal' bottle snd we had to put him on hypoallergenic milk called nutramigen AA which stabilised all the symptoms. He was never able to drink a full bottle until things were much more settled and this meant I was often doing more night feeds and would go to bed with a couple of bottles Pre made up with cooled boiled water and then take the Pre measured formula ready to add as needed. It's very stressful in the beginning but as things progress and you're adding foods it did settle. You just need to make sure she is on the right milk becuaee it doesn't sound like it to me. My son had nutramigen until he was about 2.5. Good luck

Also we were on omeprazole but it is unlikely to work well if you're still giving her the very thing she is allergic to?

boysonthesofa · 31/01/2021 14:35

You can't even begin to introduce routine and stopping night feeds until the milk / reflux is totally under control and solids introduced and established. Reflux babies cannot tolerate full feeds in general so little and often is how we had to do it until he was big enough and taking in enough calories in the day to start night weaning

@boysonthesofa apprently the dietitan felt is was time to transititon her to normal milk and see how she got on she was on the pure amino which had just amino protein and now shes off it she wont even try it again as i had a spare tub and tried to give her it she refused tried vinilla drops i tried normal milk and that and she refused. i have literally went down every lane. when i emaied her i got give it a try thats it so i asked doctor she said because she is not showing rashes or anything so must be her reflux i have tried raising her in bed i mean everything im so exchausted. but once you wake her up she is ok and stops crying i dont understand.

She won't try it because the taste is worse now she's used to not having it. Was she stable on it? If so, I would ignore the dietitian! Go and see a gastro paediatrician. It is really hard weaning on to it so you may need to do that again now. She will take it once she's hungry enough. I would see a doctor to make sure there's nothing else going on. I can't imagine any doctor moving a CMPI baby off allergenic milk at six months it doesn't make sense at all.

boysonthesofa · 31/01/2021 21:05

Lying flat exacerbates it. Get her back on formula, raise head of bed... the quicker you can get the CMPI back under control the better. I couldn't lay my boy in a buggy flat ever I had to carry him everywhere. It was absolutely exhausting and it nearly broke me. Get as much help as you can from a good doctor. That nutritionist doesn't understand reflux so I wouldn't seek advice from her again if I were you.
