Tell me the endless crying does end

3 month old, gorgeous baby that cries mostly from colic which then seems to spiral out of control to red-faced screaming. Thankfully, not at night, just day and evenings. I need to know it won't last and that one day I'll have more than 20 mins in a day to do things and that I'll have my sanity back... I don't feel I can leave her with anyone as they wouldn't be able to cope

Yes, it does end... at 3mo you should be getting to the end of colic. Horrendous at the time, I know. Have you tried Infacol?

Hi - thanks for replying. Yes, have tried Infacol and nothing seems to work. She does seem to have tummy trouble - pulls her legs up, screams, farts and poos loads - but she also cries over small things like seemingly being in the wrong position. When she's not crying, she's a v smiley baby. I knew about sleepless nights, but nothing prepared me for endless crying.

have you tried a dummy, was a sanity saver for us in those early weeks!

No, I've been stupidly reluctant about it, though recently have wondered why. Did you think it helped to stop the crying?

Poor you and your daughter. Sounds like your describing how my DD was at that age. It will pass.
Nothing I purchased cured it for my DD, i just had to wait it out. Now at 3 she sleeps through doesnt cry quite as much but does still tend to suffer from trapped wind still occasionally.

Your doing really well staying patient with her as the endless crying can wear you down.
She started to get better when she could move around a bit on her own, i know this seems a long way of but it will come around quickly.
My best suggestion is lying her over your forearm so her tummy is lying on the inside of your forearm, her head near your elbow and lower half on your hand and rub her back. Try to get as much wind up as possible after feeding even if this means doing it for ages. Thats the only thing that eased it for my DD.

I am no great fan of dummies but they def. helped DS' colic when nothing else worked.

Yes, sling is The Only Answer and even that doesn't always work. I've got her in it now, while I type!

i was totally against dummies but certainly giving my son one saved my sanity a few times.. he is nearly one and still has it though so i can't tell you whether weaning them off one is a nightmare or not.. yet!

Are you b/f? She may be intolerant of something in your diet? eg dairy

I don't know how you have coped with 12 weeks of endless crying.

I only managed 2 weeks (dd2 now 7 weeks) before i gave in and gave her a dummy. It was great just to have some quite. I found it help her go to sleep and settle her.

I also found when i changed her ff from SMA Gold to Cow & Gate easy digest formula it has help and she is a much more settled baby.

Oh i don't give her a dummy everytime she cry's i only use as last resort as i do not want her to have to have to get to sleep IYKWIM.
