Hi

If you have used one of these which one did you go for and how would you rate it?

I have the Chicco next2me crib and it is sooo much more convenient than a normal cot or Moses basket. I can lie next to my baby and just stick my hand out to him if he needs comforting or his dummy putting back in. I can fall asleep easily in between his fussy periods rather than sitting next to a cot for hours and losing any sleep time.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 26/01/2021 14:27

I used a chicco for baby 1 and a snuz pod for baby 2 - the chicco was bigger - it would definitely last longer. I like the fact you can move the snuzpod, it's not tied to the bed. I also like the look of the snuzpod better. I'd say they're both good.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 26/01/2021 14:27

Totally agree with previous poster - one that you can put your hand in whilst lying down is brilliant to pop a dummy back in or hold their hand

I had the Tutti Bambino Cozee one and it was great! Made life so much easier and I loved that she still had her own space but i could reach her easily to comfort/her

I also really liked the mesh side on this one as it meant even when I wanted to put the side up and have it away from the bed I could still see her.

linerforlife · 26/01/2021 14:43

I used the next to me and it was brilliant, and lasted much longer than the six months I expected it to as it's much bigger than others

BibbyDarling · 26/01/2021 14:56

Loved my chicco next to me first time round & using it again with second baby. Xox

Babyontheway21 · 26/01/2021 15:01

Thanks everyone there seems to be lots of different models of chicco... what’s the best one or is it the most expensive one is obviously the best?

I think Chicco have been gradually updating theirs hence the different models but I just bought their original next2me and it’s great, the newer models offer other features but only if you feel like you really need them. Plus it was on sale on Amazon when I bought it.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/01/2021 15:17

Anyone who has had a baby born over 9lb, what age did you manage to use one of these until?

We have this one. It's lovely but baby still refuses to sleep anywhere but on or right next to me 😫

Maxi Cosi Iora - easy to fold down, transport, good recline, spacious and a handy basket underneath for spare bedding, blankets, muslins, nappies etc, mesh side.
DD has slept in it since birth, plenty of room left (14weeks) she liked that I could hold her hand in the early days and she could see me.

linerforlife · 26/01/2021 16:51

Yes I bought a cheap one, an older model off Amazon - I didn't need any features, just for it to be a crib! My friend had a 9lb plus baby and had the Snuz - could only use it until 4 months old! Would have got longer out of a next to me as it's bigger!

barbiemummy20 · 26/01/2021 16:53

@DressingGown87 so great to read I bought the maxi cosi one for my wee one due in May, loved the basket and it looked really well sized x

Vtech · 26/01/2021 18:56

We have a snuzpod and it’s great. You can attach it to the bed with the straps down so the baby is right beside you, or have it as a stand-alone crib which rocks.

Just got the magic version. Wanted to be able to pull the side down with one hand, and heard it was quieter and easier with Magic.
peapotter · 26/01/2021 20:21

Baby bay. Expensive but lasts well, and I knew from previous kids that there would be nights when a toddlee needs a cuddle and sleep nearby. It lasted for ages, and turns into a desk, but I think we might resell as they hold their value well (got it 2nd hand anyway, new mattress)

FirstPost99 · 26/01/2021 20:30

Has anyone used the babylo cozi sleeper? It looks the same size as the chicco next to me.

Also wondering the same as @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE as I have big babies!

Bluebelltulip · 26/01/2021 20:38

I had the babylo cozy sleeper and it was great even took it away with us. I had to stop using it due to baby's mobility at 8ish months as opposed to size but he was small.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/01/2021 20:39

Ive just been looking at the Babylo

I have always used a moses basket before but my babies tend to outgrow them quickly, i would ideally like something baby will fit in until 6m just to give current smallest dc a bit longer in the cot!

BakewellGin1 · 26/01/2021 21:48

We had the Next to Me but used it as a stand alone rather then with side down however I loved the mesh side so I could see Ds without moving and he was literally next to my side of the bed.

We used it until he was approx 7 or 8 months I think

Babyontheway21 · 27/01/2021 10:04

Just had a thought ... the floor to the top of my mattress is 70cm does anyone have experience with a higher bed and one of these I take it this will limit my choice if I can’t get one at all :(

I have a similar issue. The Snuzpod is apparently suitable for an adult mattress up to a maximum height of 73cm from the floor. My issue is that it doesn't sound like it will have the same longevity as some of the other bedside cribs. I'll let you know what I find (although hopefully someone with experience will come along and direct us!) Smile
Babyontheway21 · 27/01/2021 12:00

Great thank you Smile

@afinethingindeed We used the Snuzpod until our average sized baby was 6.5 months. He had only an inch left in length by the head and foot by that point, but the limiting factor was actually his ability (and desire) to roll right out of it.

I wouldn't expect to get more than 6 months out of any bedside crib because of rolling and sitting up.

Thank you! Yes, I've just read that those with larger babies might only get to 4 months or so before the snuzpod is too small, so I'm just wondering if I should err on the side of caution with that.
