Brighton is nearest and so my number 1 choice but does anyone have any experience or opinion on any of the mentioned Unis? I'm about to start my personal statement and I want to decide which Unis to go for.

Also what London Uni would be best for me?

Institute of Education in London
Christchurch Canterbury has a very good reputation historically as a former teacher training college

Ooh thanks Marina I shall have a look at the London one.

Yeah I heard that Canterbury has a good rep, the only down side for me is that it is a bit of a pain train journey!

Hi sorry it's taken me so long to answer it's all go,go,go here at the moment.

I'm in Hastings just along the coast, how about you?

Canterbury is very expensive for living etc. Not bad as a town but overrun with tourists and students, (the young feckless type!)

I think the teaching course is good, from what I've heard.

Anything else about Canterbury just ask as I've lived here since I was four

I would go with Brighton personally!!

Jaquelinehyde · 04/11/2007 20:45

Oooh thanks for that.

I wouldn't be moving to live in Canterbury so the living costs wouldn't matter but, I thinks getting to Canterbury from Hastings would be a real nightmare!

Brighton is favorite at the mo

Once you are on your block practice of teacher training, they generally try to post you within reasonable distance of where you live (well, they divide Kent up into regions), so you wouldn't be going into Canterbury every day.

I was a Prof Mentor for the students in secondary schools who came in from Canterbury and, having dealt with a number of other teacher unis, Canterbury do a good job.

The London Institute have an excellent reputation - very cutting edge - and if you can teach in London you can teach anywhere.
