Baby carrying and prolapse

So, after my 2nd birth I was diagnosed with mild prolapse, nothing major and i do exercises given by a physio etc. Only thing I'm finding hard is lack of baby wearing as with my first we could still go out on loads of great walks in local area as just bunged him in a sling. Physio said to avoid unnecessary carrying but feeling really restricted by only going to buggy friendly walks for our exercise! My question is really is back carrying as bad for pelvic floor as front carrying or is carrying of any sort just a no no. Obviously if it's a choice between nice walks or keeping my internal organs inside my body, id choose the latter - I'm not silly! Just wondered from people's experience/ things they've been told. Thankyou

I had a mild prolapse after DS was born. I was given the same advice by my physio... but carried on. I was a bit miffed as I loved carrying him. He’s now 4 and still has occasional sling rides. The prolapse gradually resolved, it just (probably) took much longer. I didn’t notice any difference between front and back carries. I did make sure I laid down as much as I could though (easier said than done). I would also not carry everyday and would rest. I was very careful about all other lifting. I still do my PF exercises and see them as like teeth brushing - something to be done daily forever. I did have an epic setback when he was 2.5. I carried him up a mountain (about 4 hours walking). It took the best part of a year to recover from that FFS 😂🤦‍♀️

I personally found back carrying quite bad for the prolapse, it is sad. Keep up your exercises, they will help. I saw a private pelvic physio once dc was about 1 as I couldn't stand it and wish I'd gone sooner.

Thanks everyone. I think I need to be sensible don't I? Id be so upset if had set back because of sling carrying when recovery going so well! I'll be doing pram walks in the week then and making dh carry him all over the place at weekends!
