anyone know what a 22mo who hates nappies can wear at night?

DD is 22mo and decided a month ago that she doesn't wear nappies any more (! i know)
Anyway she is fine in the day, loves her new undies, it's very rare that there are 'accidents' and she's even dry during nap time, asks for wee straight after waking.
Night time is the big issue - persuaded her into pull-ups for night, til now. Tonight we're having none of it, she says. As she is so keen on her two cups of milk before bed i don't think she's able to last through, even if i get her up a few times in the evening to take her to the loo. Have sneaked a nappy on her after she went to sleep tonight, but has anyone got any better ideas?

How wet is she in the morning?

Have you been using cloth or disp nappies?

from one witch to another the only thing is to put the nappy on after she has gone to sleep. If she wees before sleeping that usually gives you a couple of hours before you need to put the nappy on so you can do like us and put the nappy on just before we go to bed

It might be worth trying once to see if she stays dry at night. I didn't know DS2 could do it until I forgot to put his pull-up on one night, lo and behold he was bone-dry in the morning, so he never had a nappy again at night after that.

I 'made' some bedwetter pants by sewing a 2 layers of towelling into some standard training pants. DS thought he was wearing pants, and as he was potty training and knew not to wee in pants, he was dry at night really quick. On the couple of occasions he was wet the extra towelling absorbed every thing.
Someone posted on another thread a while back that you give her the option, cup of milk or nappy? We also did this with ds and it worked.

Now for my disclaimer that I always put when posting my experiences on potty training threads.

"I do appreciate that all children are different and just because my ds1 was dry day and night at 2.7yo may be down to the child and not any superior parenting skills on my part. Look out for my posting desperate for potty training help with ds2 some time in 2008"

Motherease bed wetter pants (depending on how wet she is at night)

Otherwise could you persuade her with a cloth nappy in a girly/funky design?

Same as witchandchips, with my second child I just gently put on a nappy after he was asleep, and always said "I'm just putting on your night nappy" as I did it.

With my first I felt I must not do anything to him while asleep, but had so many wet beds!!

a big thanks you people, lots of great ideas from u (where would i be without MN?) Will try them - probably each one in turn and see what works!

Tonight I have put her in cloth nappies which she puts up with for a bit, but the moment if there's even a dribble on the nappy she's up and taking it off. She is on her third and has gone to sleep with it on (so far) Perhaps i should be looking into baby straight jacket rather than nappies? only kidding i think

Am tempted to give the no-nappy thing a go,but ummm am i brave enough? the suggestion of no-nappy til we go to bed sounds more appealing as i've reached my limit with soggy toddlers turning up in my room (DD has two big brothers) As I said, I'm off to try them all!
