What’s your routine?

My DS is 8 weeks old and although he has got himself into a night routing, during the day he doesn’t nap and gets overstimulated.
His awake without fail at 6am every morning then sleeps at 7pm. He wakes at 11,2 and 4am for a feed. He only has an ounce maybe 2 at each night feed and between 5-6 at every fed during the day.
I would like to start to establish a proper routine during the day but not sure where to start or how to get him down for a nap.
What routines do you lady’s have for your little ones and how did to establish it?

Mine did sort of fall into their own routines when they were a couple of weeks older but then we had things like classes and school runs so they knew what was happening in the day.

If LO isn't sleeping at all in the day, I'd try putting them down an hour after the first wake up, then at this age go for being awake for 2 hours then nap. So if he's awake at 6am and goes for a nap at 7am, if he slept to 8am I'd try the next nap at 10am.

My LO is 10 weeks and, to be honest, we have no clear routine. She wakes up around 9am, that’s the only consistency we have! But I do use the Huckleberry app, you record their sleeps (I record feeds too for my own reference) and once it collects enough data it works out when is the exact best time to put baby down for a nap, it’s pretty much always spot on - I feel like it knows my baby better than I do 😂 it stops her from getting to the overtired stage and means I can plan my day around her a bit more

My DD is 10 weeks old and hasn't much of a routine tbh. My DD1 had a clear routine by this point. But my 10 week old has a vague one of bottles every 3 hours, witching hour from 7-8:30pm, and she naps (usually on me annoyingly) whenever she is tired or I go out in the buggy. Being a second kid she is just dragged around after DD1 so I havent put any effort into a routine for her. I think they generally get one themselves over time. I put lots of effort into DD1s routine but in reality she just fell into it herself and I worked around her

My LO went from sleeping whenever and wherever to needing a more structured routine at around 12 weeks. She made this obvious to me as she went from falling asleep anywhere without much encouragement to struggling to nap and was getting very grumpy and overly tired.

At this point we started putting her down in her snuzpod for all her naps and made sure it was quiet, dark and put white noise on. It took about a week to get her into this but it worked well and I was no longer pulling my hair out with a overly tired screaming baby. Obviously it's a bit of a bind as you have to be in the same room as them when they sleep until 6 months, but for me it was much better than the alternative. She's now 18 weeks and generally goes 1.5 hours between naps, except her first nap which is around an hour after she first wakes up.

I second the huckleberry app which is a lifesaver.

After reading these posts I have downloaded the huckleberry app. I need to start transitioning DD from napping on me to her bassinet as when I put her down in it, she immediately wakes up, meaning she is napping in 15 minute spurts and then is very overtired. With a toddler I cant sit for hours while she sleeps. I need to be a bit more conscious of her sleep.
