Taking nappy off

Hi, hope you're all well.
My daughter keeps taking her nappy off and it's getting frustrating, I've tried putting tape round her nappy but she just pulls her nappy down, also tried putting a onsie on backwards with a safety pin in the zip but she manages to get that off. What else could I try?

How old is she? Might be time to start potty training, if she's got the dexterity to take her nappy off despite being pinned into a backwards onesie!

Stop giving her attention for doing it. Just ignore.

She's doing it because she gets a reaction. Mummy sellotaping her into a nappy sounds like it's a right laugh for her.

Alternatively put her on the potty every time she takes it off. Maybe it's the beginning of potty training.

Potty train, get a mattress protector and just ignore it.

I've tried potty training her, I leave her nappy off for hours on end and does nothing, but once I put her to bed for a nap then she urinates/poos. I don't really fancy letting her sleep in her urine during night when I'm not awake to change her bedding.

Another one fir potty training. My DS potty trained at 2 as he was also showing signs of readiness and took to it really well.

Does she sleep deeply enough that you could put some pull ups on her when she is asleep? That way she'll never know until she wakes up

If she's not weeing for hours on end then she's likely not getting enough fluid. Lots and lots of water, nappy off, potty in the room, watch her like a hawk. You need to put her on the potty as soon as she starts to go so that she learns that's where wee goes etc.

Pull up. Vest with poppers on back to front.

She sleeps all night so shouldn't be a problem putting a pull up on her when she's asleep.

She's getting enough fluids she's always got a bottle with either milk or water in. She sits on it for about 10 mins here and there, but never actually does anything.

Snug fitting swimming costume over nappy, under reversed sleep suit.

What happens if you don't put a nappy on her in the morning, and leave it off all day? Does she hold it? If she manages to hold it for hours and hours despite drinking lots then I'd say she's definitely ready (as she has bladder control and manual dexterity) so she just needs to be taught that wee goes in the potty. Try getting her to blow bubbles while sitting on it - you can't blow and tense your bladder at the same time!

And maybe try pullups at night instead of nappiesm

Yeah she holds it. She knows what the potty is for she asks to go on it. I'll try the bubbles thank you!

Are you bribing her for the potty? I expect it's not recommended but we used chocolate buttons for each successful go! I was a healthy eating freak with my PFB so getting chocolate was like some sort of miracle!

No, will try she loves chocolate.

We had to switch to pampers nappy pants which stopped dd doing this at a similar age
