My baby always wakes up from naps either crying or screaming, can anyone tell me why this could be? She's nearly 10 weeks old

How long does she sleep for? Could she be waking up hungry?

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 12/01/2021 17:12

My baby does this when he wakes up and wants to go back to sleep again

Hungry I expect? Mine usually fed straight after a nap.

She'll be put down after having her bottle, sleep for an hour or so then wake up crying.

She'll take about an hour to feed but she was born 10lb 3oz and now the GP estimates she's around 14lb so she should be getting 1000ml a day however she only gets around 700ml - 900ml or maybe 1000ml on a good day. I tried her on the vari flow teats but it made her very sicky. She's on medium flow but takes soo long to finish and only has 150ml sometimes, should I try fast flow? Would that make her more content? I thought it could be silent reflux because she squirms and cries and throws herself forward however the GP just said as long as she's gaining weight then it's ok.

She also eats her hand after feeds which makes me think she's still hungry but I'm so scared to try other teats incase she throws up again.

This meant they were still tired for mine. Do you use white noise or music? There's a skiphop toy that detects a cry, plays music and can sometimes get them back to sleep before they wake up too much.

No idea about formula feeding but I think they eat their hands for exploration as well as hunger at that age.

I would try the faster teat and just deal with the vomiting if it happens. My baby has bad reflux and is sick multiple times per day. It’s only an issue if they stop gaining weight. It sounds like she’s still hungry if she’s crying and chewing hands etc.
