It's a Charlotte tilbury felt tip liquid eyeliner, he seems fine in himself, what should I do??

I would seek advice from 111, making sure you have the full name of the product and the list of ingredients. Most small objects that are not sharp will pass through and out the other end, but I think I would be a little concerned about chemicals, depending on whether the tip was clean or not. Chances are all will be fine.

Aquamarine1029 · 12/01/2021 11:50

I don't think you need to do anything. He'll be fine.

Respectabitch · 12/01/2021 11:52

Absolutely nothing. It isn't poisonous. He'll digest anything digestible and pass the rest.

How old is the baby?

fancytiles · 12/01/2021 11:55

He's 13 months old, he didn't eat the actual felt end of it, but it was all around his mouth and in his mouth, been on hold to 111 for an hour 😭

I wouldn’t do anything. It’s gentle enough to be used around your eye.

Rainallnight · 12/01/2021 11:58

I’d leave it. He’ll be fine.

Akire · 12/01/2021 12:03

At 13m he’s old enough go around picking up and eating all sorts. Can’t be any different from sucking a felt tip can’t really be a lot to digest most would have just rubbed on his face

He’ll be fine, has he had a good drink of water?

fancytiles · 12/01/2021 12:21

He has yes

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 12/01/2021 12:22

He’s probably eaten much worse by now.

I wouldn’t worry.

Respectabitch · 12/01/2021 12:25

Babies and toddlers eat weird shit all the time. Unless what they ate has a "WARNING, EXTREMELY TOXIC" label on it, the vast majority of the time what you need to do about it is nothing. This stuff was made for you to put on your eyes, remember. It was made with the expectation that it would be accidentally sucked, swallowed, and jabbed into people's mucus membranes. It is not toxic.

roratone · 12/01/2021 12:28

He absolutely will be fine. Please don't worry.

schmockdown · 12/01/2021 12:29

I wouldn't do anything.

choosername1234 · 12/01/2021 12:37

Don't be alarmed if his poo is a different colour tomorrow

fancytiles · 12/01/2021 13:36

Okay thank you! Yes you're right makeup shouldn't be toxic!

If it makes you feel any better, this morning I had to use the phrases "Don't suck the pen!", "No, we do NOT eat catfood. I said NO!", "Come back here with that lemon! Come here!", "What's in your mouth? There's no food anywhere...", and "Stop getting things out of the bin, yuk yuk YUK!" to my 13 month old.

This is just the age that they get into everything, and it's only the fact that she's dd2 and we survived the stage with dd1 (now 5 and perfectly well behaved) that stops me constantly googling things like "Are bird fatballs poisonous to toddlers?" on an almost daily basis.

pastabest · 12/01/2021 14:40

It wouldn't even occur to me to be anxious about this.

I'd be irritated, but not worried.

I have two under 4s and the other day I caught them daring each other to lick the others bums/noses/ears

The youngest loves dog biscuits

The eldest is repeatedly told off for trying to lick shampoo off the shower door.

Children are vile. Just be glad your first introduction to this is eyeliner and not shit/slugs/soil.

LaBellina · 12/01/2021 14:49

Mine recently repeatetly licked the window inside a train. That seems more gross and dangerous to me then eyeliner.
I wouldn't worry too much but follow your mum instinct and if it doesn't sit right with you, ring 111 for advice.

fancytiles · 13/01/2021 15:37

Thank you so much for the advice xxx

Grin

The other day I had to get a stone, mud, soil, a bit ripped off a wipe, and a piece of cat food out of my son's mouth before 4pm
