Tonight has been the worst night so far! Normally baby will sleep through no problem but tonight he just has been crying, won't accept a bottle, laying down or sitting on my lap. the only time he has been sleep is if I walk around with him, even if he sleeps and I lay him down 5 minutes later wakes up crying again. Been told he is showing signs of teething so gave some paracetamol and is sleeping now but don't know for how long. Is 3 months to early to be teething? I tried feeling with my finger but can't feel anything there

Has to pick a night when I feel low as well ( also was told baby is picking up on my feelings )

Babies can teethe at any age, some are born with teeth. Maybe if you've noticed signs of teething such as drooling, red cheeks ect you should try and pick up on early signs of when baby may be agitated and give medicine before he get a upset. Usually walking around is a distraction and been held close and tight is their comfort knowing that you've got them and they're safe. It's a whole new world that they're still getting used to and it's scary not just for them but you.

When you say paracetamol, do you mean Calpol?

Doubt baby is teething at 3 months. They just go through phases of this, looking for comfort. It will pass!

They can teeth at that age, but it might not be that. My twins had tiny bits of teeth poking out at 1 week old! (Haven’t come any further through). The midwife said sometimes teeth move under the gums in the early months, well before they come through, and that can cause discomfort.

3 months is also prime time for gas/digestive discomfort. Calpol would relieve the pain, but can cause constipation sometimes. Walking around might be easing gas - is he most comfy up on your shoulder? The pressure on the tummy can help. If gas is causing issues there are a few things you can do instead of painkillers:
Massage/bicycle legs - lie baby down and do bicycle legs for 10s, then push both knees up together to tummy and rock legs from side to side. Then gently rub tummy in clockwise direction. Repeat over and over again for 5-10 minutes.
Try infacol before feeds - helps them to bring up gas as a burp.

Of course, it could just be a developmental thing e.g becoming more aware of being apart from you, or a change to sleep cycles. If that’s the case, you just need to comfort them through it with lots of cuddles and reassurance.

Whatever it is, do what you need to do to get through it. Phases at this age don’t last long.

Yes he does drool a little bit has bright red cheeks all the time and won't stop trying to eat his hands, normally he does get a bit grizzly in the evenings but will accept cuddles or a bottle but last night was horrible. Got my fingers crossed tonight will be better. No it's just called baby paracetamol got it out of Tesco. Will try the things with the legs because he does get a bit of constipation so might help thank you
