hi,
so we want our son to have alpro junior milk when he no longer needs formula at 1 but we brought some to try and get him used to it. can i start replacing some of his bottles with the soya milk in a cup (as we want to wean off bottles too) and see how it goes, or would i have to wait? he also eats a lot of food and still drinks a fair bit of milk so milk isn't a MUST.
TIA Smile

@YouLikeTheBadOnesToo

We were advised to introduce soy products slowly and in very small amounts, and definitely not before 1. Apparently soya is a common allergen for very young children (one they usually grow out of). So if I were you I’d probable add a little to his cereal for a couple of days, and if no reactions increase from there.

HOWEVER ds was under the care of a paediatrician for a pretty severe milk allergy, and I was also advise to reduce the amount of soy in my own diet for his benefit (breastfeeding). So I’m not sure if the allergy information/age is true of all children or more so for those with CMPA.

Some where between 50 to 70% of children with CMPA will be allergic to soya too.

I had read it somewhere in the past, looks like the evidence is there but not conclusive. I personally wouldn't give soy milk as main drink to a toddler.
