At 2 and a half I used open cups, usually small plastic ones. What does he use during the daytime?

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 06/01/2021 20:24

At 2.5 he should be using a normal, plastic cup. What does he drink out of during the day?

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 06/01/2021 20:25

Apologies, read that back and it sounds a bit bitchy! My son is 2.5 and at meal times he’s had aplastic cup it a sports bottle type when out and about. His bedtime milk is always in a plastic cup

He doesn't need milk at bedtime at 2.5, give it to him in a cup at dinner.

My DC had a bottle at night until they basically said they didn't want it anymore... probably about 4yrs.

I really wasn't bothered. They had no teeth issues, speech defects etc and at the ages of 17yr and 13yrs it hasn't hindered their development Wink

Did you brush their teeth after?
Retrovibe89 · 06/01/2021 20:52

My DD is 2 and we use one of the miracle 360 cups for milk at night. She has the ones without a handle so are a bit bigger and much like a normal
Cup but harder to spill! She has an open cup during the day for meals and a straw cup for water on the go

lambo88 · 06/01/2021 21:06

I really that when they are ready, they will and then there is no fuss or upset.

Same with toilet training. When they're ready they will do it with no issues. Both my boys were 3yrs when they were ready and it was completely stress free.

FourDecades · 06/01/2021 22:06

I'll be honest...and say no Blush

FourDecades · 06/01/2021 22:07

That was in answer to brushing their teeth

Bettyboop82 · 06/01/2021 22:12

My 3.5 year old is perfectly capable of using an open cup and does so throughout the day. At bedtime however she has warm milk in a bottle snuggled upto me reading a book and goes to sleep happy and content, I have no plans to change this any time soon. Her teeth are perfect and she cleans them twice a day before anyone starts Wink. Do what works for you and your little one. They’re not little for ever x

Mylittlesandwich · 06/01/2021 22:21

DS is 13 months, drinks well from a cup during the day and has done for months but he refuses anything in a cup that isn't water. He has his teeth brushed after his bottle at bedtime and I don't see the harm in it.
