Desperately needing some advice or suggestions for my 8 week old baby. He’s suffering horrendously with colic and from 6pm onwards he will scream for upto 6 hours non stop. He looks in so much pain and so distressed and I feel like iv tried most things now to help with nothing working. The health visitor wasn’t much help and just said try different things and he’ll grow out of it eventually, which I know is true but it’s relentless atm! We use anti colic bottles and wind him loads he does bring up wind but still seems to be in discomfort. Iv tried colief - which just made him poo more but didn’t seem to help the colic. Infacol - seems to help him burp more but he’s still in loads of discomfort. Gripe water - makes him sick and scream more. Currently trying dentanox but can’t see any changes at the moment.
Is there anything else I can try? Iv been looking at a probiotic supplement for babies but I don’t know if that will work. I’m just wanting to know what worked for other mums I’ll try anything.

Hi @3cats1baby1manchild firstly you have my sympathy as my DS had colic and it was horrendous!
We did the below as well as anti colic bottles and Colief:
Warm baths
Tummy massage
Swaddling him
Drives in the car
Walking for miles in the pushchair
Rocking back and forth (swing motion)
Bicycle legs

These were all done whilst DS was screaming! Most helped ease it for a short period of time, which allowed him to sleep for a short time, but unfortunately OP you've just got to grit your teeth until it passes.
Our DS had it from 2-6 weeks and it was gone altogether by 9 weeks.
My only other advice is sleep when baby sleeps. As that's the only time you will at the moment!
Big hugs OP!!! You've got this! 💪🏻

My baby had colic at 3 weeks and we found swapping to comfort milk helpful, his poos got very messy at 7 weeks so we ve swapped him back to normal cow and gate and he's doing brilliantly, so you could try different milk for a week and see if it helps at all. Drives in the car almost always help settle him when he's upset.

If you have a partner can they take baby for a bit so that you can get some undisturbed sleep.

My friends little boy suffered really baby for what felt like forever, even to me. She tried everything and using a combination of everything previously mentioned, removing things from her diet, including dairy (he was breast fed) and using a sling/carrier helped. It seems to be a real try it and see problem. Good luck OP, it must be awful xx

Will he take a dummy? It might soothe him. My son had it on and off, but on his bad nights we used to give him a dummy, pop him in the sling and walk.

The trick was to do this BEFORE he started crying. It was no good if he was already agitated.
