Tier 4 - keeping busy after mat leave starts but before baby arrives

Hi everyone what kind of things did you do to prepare for baby? And to keep busy ish?

My job is stressful so I'm finishing at 36w regardless of WFH.

Things that I have to do or have thought of:

Hospital appointments
Washing baby clothes
Buying hospital snacks
Prep some freezer meals
Write or at least buy any Birthday cards for the next quarter
Walk with a friend

If we are in tier 3:

Pregnancy massage
Mani Pedi
Haircut

Any other ideas or useful things to get ahead of or enjoy?

I know this is a bit dull but I want to try and keep sane because if baby is late this could be 6 weeks.

Thanks in advance

Honestly id just sit down and chill out. You'll have plenty on your mind when the baby arrives.

Stay away from online shopping!. I spent a small fortune on things I didn't need after I'd finished work and before ds arrived.

Batch cook! And clean! Dd is due in 4 weeks and I've finished work to do the above and rest

I walked a lot and had coffee and cake in cafes. Worked out. Cooked like a maniac (unlike me, but the freezer sure got well stocked). Read. Knitted. Watched box sets. Had baths.

And you may well find yourself being overcome with urges to clean! I abruptly decided that my baby couldn't possibly be born into a house with dirty windows and booked the window cleaner. My brother has 3 and says that when he saw his DE scrubbing the skirting boards, he always knew the baby wouldn't be long. Grin

DW not DE, bah

Read books. Lie on sofa and watch films. Drink hot coffee and read magazines.

These are things you'll miss doing. And relaxing beforehand will stand you in good stead. Maternity leave isn't about just the baby, it's about you preparing yourself and relaxing beforehand. Honestly, you relax and don't feel guilty about that. It's strange how we all feel guilty about doing nothingz especially when men are about. So walk, read, watch films, get your hair and nails done. Squeeze your nipples everyday (the milk will come in honest!) Xx good luck, how lovely x

Good

Just chill and go one day at a time. I also went on maternity from 36 weeks and my son came over two weeks early. Wish I'd been more relaxed.

give the house a deep clean coz you don't know when will be the next time you have the time to do it, read books, watch films or TV you want to watch because you probably won't have time to do those either lol

Thanks all!

I've ordered a load of books and I've never watched Grey's Anatomy so I'll start that!

The tasks I have can keep me going slowly but I get the message - rest :)
