Muddled over formula - possible cmpa

Sorry this is a bit long and muddled but I'm sleep deprived and trying to type with fussing baby in my arms 😩

We've been having constant issues with our 8wo being unsettled since she was born. She appears very uncomfortable, cries a lot after feeds, grunts a lot etc.

The GP initially prescribed gaviscon, which helped a little but she's still getting very upset a lot. He then prescribed Nutramagen in case the discomfort was being caused by cmpa, which we started last Monday and were told to give it 3-4 days to see if it had an impact. She was more content and settled, however the volume she was drinking dropped significantly - she didn't like the milk, would take some but then start refusing the bottle even though she was visibly still hungry. The health visitor said that if it didn't pick up or she wasn't wetting/soiling as many nappies then to put her back on the old formula (we used SMA). They weren't overly convinced about the cmpa angle anyway and thought that she would grow out of the fussiness at around this age anyway.

Over Christmas eve and overnight into Christmas day, a couple of her nappies were bone dry, so we decided to switch back to SMA even though she had been happier from a mood point of view.

Well, in the last 24 hours she has become more and more unhappy again. Cried ALL night, and the pained crying out is happening more again. I'm now trying to work out what to do. I'm conscious that I really don't want to keep swapping and changing her feed. Do we go back to nutramagen now? Stick to SMA and just try to comfort her? Try other remedies - we have colief in the cupboard but not tried this yet as find the instructions a bit confusing (and we use a pp machine so if we have to do a 30 min wait this won't work...)? Or are there any commercial formulas that anyone can recommend that are lactose free and that are more palatable, so we aren't worried about her taking sufficient volume? So unsure what is best and obviously the HV and gp are now closed until Tuesday!

There is a great CMPA Facebook page with some people who are very knowledgeable about different formulas. I would ask on there.
