Help please
I just want to know if anyone else experienced this or should I be worried. How normal is it for a baby to vomit like the exorcist if allowed to cry for more than roughly 30 seconds.
Not experienced this with my other babies.
My baby is just turning one and has done this since she was born. Her first week she dropped birth weight a bit like a lot of babies do. However by week three she hadn't put it back on even though only vomiting up milk the couple of times a day I might not quiet her quick enough. So midwife told us to take her to hospital for investigation.
At the hospital they checked her over. Asked some questions and then concluded it was very bad reflux. They advise us to feed her fairly up right and keep her that way for a while. We go a prescription to use if she needed it and off we went home with are answer, reflux.
Anyway she did put on weight next time midwife saw her. So we were discharged from her care. Had health visitor see us twice. Then no more health visits or clinics because of covid lockdown. Not had contact with health visitors since. In our area they are hiding well. Been to gp for vaccinations. Baby is big and healthy these days.
However the vomiting if she cries issue has never gone away. We just have held her or one of us have never been more than a couple of metres from her day and night.
I know some babies vomit if left to cry for a long time but I don't like to leave mine to cry anyway. I just want to know how common it is to do this after less than a minute? She can literally make a couple of shrieks and then full on projectile vomit.
Up until now as she is happy, big and healthy I have just took the reflux explanation. Now she is one and still doing it I am wondering if more going on.
An I just tired and over thinking? Does this happen with reflux sometimes? Has this happened to your baby or one you know?
Sorry for long post but want you to have all the information.
