Silent reflux help!

Hi all, so had a routine appointment with the Healthvisitor today and she thinks my 6 week old DS might have silent reflux and that I should get a prescription from the doctor. My question is, is there any natural remedies/help for silent reflux before I go down the medication route - probiotics or anything? Does anyone have experience with this and can tell me when it got better for them! Thank you in advance :)

Does your DS have tongue tie? What symptoms does he have?

No tongue tie, it has been checked by the midwife. He just hates being laid down after a feed, especially at night - I do keep him upright for as possible. He also has terrible problem with bottom wind! He's still feeding every hour or less during the day and night, and he gets hiccups often.

Our DS had silent reflux at about the same age. Hates being put down after a feed, arched his back and cried in pain when put flat.

We tried keeping him upright for as long as possible - no probiotics at that age.

The only thing that helped us was to move to a thicker anti reflux formula. The doctor prescribed gaviscon but it didn't really help. And if breastfeeding, you have to pump, then add the gaviscon, then bottle feed so a right faff.

I think if gaviscon fails then omeprizole (sp?) is sometimes then prescribed.

For us, however, as soon as we switched to the thicker formula, DS was fine and we saw and instant difference.

My friends LO was BF and to be honest, she just put up with holding her upright for hours on end!

This is what I did - it really helped but obviously wasn’t ideal during the night feeds! DS eventually just grew out of it at around 4-5 months.
