DS refuses bottle from DH

Any reason for why our 5 month old won't take a bottle from DH all of sudden? I don't know if it's just DH or if DS will only take it from me as I can't test it as we are in a tier 2 area and not mixing with others. DH has always been very hands on and has been WFH since March and this has started over the last few days. Any tips on how to get him to take it from DH again?

Could he just be feeling a bit under the weather and wanting his Mum? Has he got any teeth coming through?

When he tries to feed the baby give your husband a top you have worn for a while and smells of you. Baby then thinks he/she is with you and feeds. I've never tried it myself but I've seen this advised here before, might be worth a shot.

Oh I've just seen baby is 5 months old - might be too old to fall for that trick! Sorry!

Are you bf and around the house at the time? Some say that if the baby smells you they won’t want a bottle as you are better!

You could try going out and see if DH can settle the little one then?

@JingleJohnsJulie possibly with the teeth, he woke up in the middle of the night for the first time in months but he's never been clingy to either one of us before

I'd try him with a dose of nurofen and see if he improves. Sounds like teeth to me OP and he's likely to change back to his old ways very soon Smile

@Elieza I gave up bf about 8 weeks ago and if DS could smell me over the roast I was cooking his sense of smell must be superhuman! I had got him to sleep and had been in kitchen cooking and not re-entered the living room until DH said he wouldn't have his bottle so had no interaction with DS for a good hour while he was awake before hand. Also DH tried for a good 15 mins before shouting me in

A little off topic but did you know you can form a support bubble with another household if you have a child under 1? Fully appreciate you may not want to but you mention not being able to mix with others. Sorry, I don't really have a good suggestion for you re bottles!
