6yo DS and his lisp

DS is 6.5 years old, and has a lisp. He’s a bright healthy child with no other issues, and he still has all his baby teeth (if that is relevant) - is it something he will grow out of? It doesn’t bother him at all, but I do feel it’s become more noticeable recently.

Is there a point I need to mention it to anyone or is it something that he’ll outgrow?

Personally I'd ask for speech therapy. You can self refer in a lot of areas.

My son has a lisp and a tongue tie he had his baby teeth quite old, lost most between 8-9 however now he’s got his big teeth the lisp is much better he’s 9 now. Refer yourself to speech & language see what they say

Get a referral. As someone who had a lot of speech therapy I can tell you that as he gets older other kids will be very mean to him.

Thanks everyone, I’ll look at self-referring in the new year. He’s desperate to lose a tooth bless him, I think all his friends have lost at least 2 or 3! The lisp is more noticeable when when he’s very excited or has a lot to say, it’s less prominent when he’s relaxed, but it’s definitely something I’ll keep an eye on.

I don't think it's that old to not be losing teeth but my family are a bit tight and like to hold on to them Grin
