Double buggy recommendations - Joie Aire or Red Kite Twini?

Hi Smile

My little boy had just turned 2 and I'm due with his little brother in March. I'm looking for a double buggy and considering either the Joie Aire or Red Kite Twini. Has anyone on here used either or both? Just wondering if so, if you would recommend? Ideally I would like something lightweight and that easily fits in the boot of the car. Also not too pricey as not sure how much use it will get, but we will certainly need one for walking my eldest to nursery.

Thanks in advance for any replies Smile

I had a Joie aire it was the best buggy I ever had it was lightweight with a huge basket. I can't say if it will fit in a car boot easily as I didn't have a car at the time that's why I was so glad it had a huge basket I could get my weekly shop in it!! It was also fairly cheap I brought it from Argos for about £140 it had a lot of use and was still in good condition when I finished with it.

Thank you 🙂 A huge basket is definitely a bonus! Did you find it east enough to manoeuvre in shops? Thanks for replying Smile

No worries 😁. Yes it fit fine down the aisles of most shops and was really easy to push good break too!

I have not tried either as well pat that stage but I would be unsure how well either is to maneuver with a toddler and a newborn due to the difference in weight and the uneven distribution.
If you go side by side you may decide to consider bigger wheels (is mountain buggy).
Side by side also has the disadvantage that the toddler has easy access to the newborn and matter how nice and loving your toddler us, he will occasionally attack and hit the baby given half a chance.
In addition with a march baby and more than two year age difference you are unlikely to use it for very long.
In your position, I would either opt for some combination of buggy board and/or sling with the buggy you already have or go for a second hand Phil and Ted / oyster or equivalent which can also be used as a single.
Also one disadvantage of side by side is that the toddler

Good point by pp I had forgotten all about the fact that Older child can reach baby. I had 17 months inbetween mine and my 17 month old would often poke and pinch baby so that is a downside! I never had a problem with uneven weight distribution though it didn't seem to make the buggy harder to push and my elder dd was a bit of a lump Smile
