Hi just wondering how I would go about telling my lo that I don't know my dad. He will soon be asking questions about mums and dads. Whats the best way to approach this? Any advice greatly appreciated!!

why don't you know him, and how old is your little one?

I don't really know apart from keeping it simple and truthful

my mother died when I was in my teens but we keep a photo of her around and she knowns her as granny - no questions so far although she is quite familiar with her parental grandparents.

my father i have no contact with no photos - still no questions

i would just be honest then- i'd say some people have Daddy live with them, and some don't, and that you don't know your Dad.

I'd just tell her in the nicest possible way.

Be honest and be undramatic.

My partner's brother died of Aids before any of his children were born. Also difficult to explain. Best to be factual.

unless your lo asks dont say anything, my nan died 5 years ago so my dd 17mo has never known her but my mom has photo's of her and she says look nanny, as before she kept smiling and saying hello to the photo so i told her that is mommy's nanny and it was basic enough for her to understand when she is older she will probably be told she is with the special angels
