Hi,

My 14 month old has started being Incredibly vocal, I'm delighted. However, he wakes himself up talking. He will talk so loud that we're up
All night watching his monitor and it's impossible to sleep through.

He naps two hours a day, but he's exhausted all the time. He's also started becoming unsettled and frustrated at night.

Is this normal? Did anyone else go through this?

Quite anxious as he normally sleeps great but last two nights he's woke up talking or woke up so unsettled. Extra anxious as I'm a nursing student with an exam tomorrow and scared of having no sleep lol.

When I say talking, it's literally "dad, mum, door, dog, duck, no, iya dog dog dog"

With laughter or the odd cry. His eyes are shut or he's rolling about with his eyes closed

Well, it's 23.30 so I hope you're fast asleep in one room, with your partner and the monitor in another.

Good luck with the exam!

One of mine talks in her sleep a lot.

If I had an exam in the morning, I wouldn't be in the same room as the monitor though - let your partner do the worrying tonight.

Generally, turn the monitor down if the little one is chuntering. You will hear if they wake up distressed.

Turn the monitor off?

I'd turn the monitor off over night.

My DD always practiced any new skill in her sleep so we had sleep crawling, sleep cruising, sleep talking. Disturbing for both her and me. Once she mastered it she largely stopped though she does still have a chat with herself in the middle of the night

Sounds like it's time for the monitor to go off overnight!
