Weaning

At the moment my daughter is four months old, and im about to start weaning. The disgraceful thing is I can remember how I weaned my son who just turned two. I keep thinking if she has her milk first she wont be hungary enough to want food afterwards and vice versa if I give her food first she might not want her milk (which at this stage is probably better for her). Do you give her food with every bottle.Or is it the case at this stage it doesnt matter how much food she eat just getting her used to eating. Any advise.

Start off with one solids a day. Often suggested to give half milk to get rid of hunger pangs and then solids then finish milk. Personally I'm sceptical about this because a lot of babies will not be impressed with their food (milk) being taken away before they are satisfied. I think before is OK if the baby is not absolutely starving but otherwise afterwards.

The first few weeks are only a taster anyway, so give the milk first. A friend of mine had a hysterical dd when she tried to give the pear puree first. They stopped when the milk was offered, and she then went on to happily eat the puree afterwards!
