A constantly grumpy baby

DD2 is just over 4 months. Up until a few weeks ago, she was relatively easygoing. She was happy to be in her pram for up to half an hour at a time, happy to sit in her bouncer while we eat dinner, happy to go in the sling and go for walks. I was delighted that after a very challenging DD1, my luck was in.

Then it all changed. DD2 now goes hysterical in the pram, shouts and and flings herself forward when in the sling, refuses to go in the bouncer, and even grizzles when we hold her on our laps. So most of her waking hours are spent shouting or crying. Her sleep is quite bad at the moment (regression), but we have a good schedule so naps should be good (even though I do have to hold her for the lunch nap).

Anyone else experience temporary (I hope) crankiness in their baby around the 4-month mark? Did it pass? What can I do to make her happier? DD1 was always cross until around 2, so I have no frame of reference.

Thank you 😊

Mine was like this and it was because she wanted to roll, and was over tired due to the sleep regression. Lots of time on the floor practicing rolling, and lots of being held for naps / co sleeping so she got some decent sleep helped us!

Thank you! Do I just pop her on the floor and let her dictate the pace, or can I 'help' her roll somehow? DD1 didn't tolerate being on the floor at all, so again I'm new to this!
